Enterprise Estates Nursing Center is a nonprofit 40 bed skilled nursing facility located in Enterprise, KS.

We are looking for an experienced director of nursing to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility. You will create and collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. All personnel will be able to do their best in caring for patients. A director of nursing should have once been a hardworking and compassionate registered nurse who developed their managerial and administrative skills. Being efficient, dedicated, a good listener and problem solver is what will open our door for you. The goal is to foster an excellent environment that will support everyone in working to the benefit of all our residents, families and staff.

Supervision:

The Director of Nursing is under the direct supervision of the facility’s Administrator.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN etc.)
  • Guide Staffing procedures.
  • Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department.
  • Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures.
  • Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards.
  • Control budgets and monitor expenditures.
  • Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed.
  • Manage record keeping procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations.
  • Report to upper management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as director of nursing
  • Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in health care.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments.
  • Willingness to keep up with changing standards in nursing administration.
  • Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
  • great communication and people skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and stress management skills.
  • aptitude and problem solving.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:

The desired minimum requirements necessary to effectively perform position responsibilities include:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • 3 years of responsible nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.
  • Excellent management skills or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing, to complete required Nursing Department documentation.
  • Respect for the principles of resident rights, confidentiality.

Other Training, Skills and Experience Recommendations:

  • Computer skills
  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • Dementia training
  • Valid CPR Certification

Physical and Emotional Requirements:

The employee must be able:

  • To move intermittently throughout the work day
  • See, hear or use prosthetic devices to enable use of the senses adequately

  • Sits, bend, stoop, for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment
  • Speak English language in an understandable manner

 Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment is throughout the facility and at times the work is stressful
  • The employee may be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases and air contaminants
  • The employee may be subject to work call-back during times of facility emergency or disaster preparedness functions
  • This is an extremely sedentary position where the employee is required to sit for prolonged periods of time
